CREUSABRO M (3401)
CREUSABRO M (3401)
Hot Rolled Austenitic Manganese Steel Sheet 12-14% Mn
Creusabro® M is an austenitic type of high-alloy manganese hot-rolled steel with a true fine grain (Hadfield steel). It is 12-14% manganese as the main component. This makes it capable of producing outstanding hardness due to external forces acting on the steel, allowing the surface of Creusabro® M to harden significantly up to 600 HBw without becoming brittle.
The second important feature is that Creusabro® M is non-magnetic steel.
Creusabro® M is a proprietary grade and registered trademark developed by Industeel. The table below is the closest steel or cast iron grade we can match.

Attribute
- Wear resistant steel plates contain 12-14% manganese as a result, resulting in Work Hardening properties, making the hardness can increase from 210 HB to 600 HB while in use.
- Condition of Sale: Hardness 180-240 HBw with solution annealing followed by quenching or quenching to ensure that the resulting microstructure is carbide-free. And this is the real unique property of steel. Hadfield
- Yield Strength N/mm2 at Operating Condition: 400
- Tensile Strength N/mm2 at Operating Condition: 900
- High Wear Resistance: The outstanding stress-hardening ability of austenitic manganese steels with 12-14% manganese has long been recognized. When subjected to high pressure or shock in use. Creusabro® M steel hardens up to 600 HB on the surface.
For specific components or applications, surface hardening by applying large external forces may be considered to create a wide range of surface hardness prior to actual use.
- Ultra-good crack resistance: With an impact energy of more than 100 Joule, and the steel body has no transition from toughness to brittleness. As a result, Creusabro® M retains good strength or toughness for use as a key component that operates in tough working conditions. If cracking of the hardened surface layer of the work occurs. A tougher and stronger core prevents the spread of cracks quickly with a yield ratio of more than 2 times. As a result, parts and components made of Creusabro® M can transfer large stress concentrations caused by external shocks quickly, thus effectively preventing damage to parts.
Hot-rolled steel with fine structure: Austenitic manganese steel may be widely used using the manufacturing process by casting, but because it is produced by hot rolling, the resulting microstructure is fine-grained and has almost no structural defects (e.g., porosity, cracks, impurities).® This may result in damage to structural parts during the operation of machinery and equipment.
Corrosion/Self-lubrication ResistanceAnother unique feature of austenitic manganese steel is its self-lubricating properties. For example, the key components of a train bogie, the pivot point pins and bushings or connecting excavator shovel assemblies made of Creusabro® M do not require oil or grease lubrication.
Magnetic Properties: Another:important feature is that high-alloy manganese steel, after undergoing proper heat treatment, will be non-magnetic.
High Temperature Properties: This grade is not suitable for applications at continuous high temperatures above 300°C. In the temperature range of 450 – 750°C, brittleness occurs in just a few minutes.

Notes: The thermal expansion of manganese steel is 1.5 to 2 times that of low alloyed carbon steel
The thermal conductivity of manganese steel is approximately 3 times lower than that of low alloyed carbon steel.
Application characteristics
- Creusabro® M is suitable for applications involving impact or compressive wear and can be used at temperatures as low as -60°C.
Due to its high resistance to both impact and abrasion wear, Creusabro® M is widely used in crushing equipment, earthmoving, railway, mining, cement plants, clutch jaws, hammers, shot blaster walls, and shot blasting machines., เหมืองแร่, โรงปูน, ปากจับของคลัชเชอร์, ฆ้อน, ผนังเครื่องพ่นทรายShot Blast และชู้ทสำหรับลำเลียงวัตถุดิบ
