CREUSABRO
CREUSABRO
Creusabro is a high-performance wear-resistant steel grade developed by Industeel France, designed to be more resistant to abrasion than conventional steels, as well as to have a longer service life than conventional grades of water-quenched steels and using boron as the main element in creating hardness. This improved property is made possible by a unique combination of chemistry and hardening processes that are different from conventional grades. Creusabro® 4800 and Creusabro® 8000
Attribute
- Creusabro® 4800 is a high-performance wear-resistant steel. It has a higher wear resistance than abrasion resistant steel that has undergone a process of immersion at hardness of 400HB of the common traditional grade, up to 50% instead of relying on high hardness levels alone. The properties of Creusabro® 4800 have been enhanced as a result of a combination of enriched alloy content (chromium, nickel, molybdenum and titanium) and a specific heat treatment procedure.
- Creusabro® 4800 is designed to provide excellent wear resistance and optimum acceptable workability.
- Creusabro® 4800 is available in a lower starting hardness than traditional wear steels to make machining processes such as cutting, machining, and forming. It is much easier and better to do than ordinary water-impregnated steel. When Creusabro® 4800 is first used, the steel will undergo a significant increase in wear resistance. The hardness increases by about +70 HB from the initial hardness under the action caused by impact on the rock or pressure from corrosive particles. We call this phenomenon the Trip Effect.
- Hardness (HBw): 340-400 (at start of use + 70HBw)
- Yield Strength N/mm2 : 900
- Tensile Strength N/mm2 : 1200
Application characteristics
- Cement Industry, Mining, Paper, Buckets, Dump Trucks, Conveying Equipment, Chain Sprockets, Hammers, etc.
- Creusabro® 4800 is ideal for use in mining and quarrying cement and steel production industries and agricultural machinery. This type of steel is suitable for friction, sliding, as well as impact. All types of dry or wet environments and with acids or alkalis, including operating temperatures up to 350 – 450°C.

When Creusabro® 8000 is introduced; there is a significant increase in wear resistance, resulting in an increase in hardness of approximately +70 HB from the initial hardness value under the action caused by impact on the rock or pressure from corrosive particles. We call this phenomenon the Trip Effect.
- Hardness (HBw): 430-500 (at the start of use Hardness +70HBw)
